John Jacobson, President & CEO, Director

John Jacobson PhotoJohn Jacobson has more than twenty years of experience as an entrepreneur and business leader at a number of technology product and service companies. He has an Honours BSc in Chemistry and Physics and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of British Columbia.

Before joining Monexa, John was President and Chief Executive Officer of Offshore Systems International Ltd. During his seven years at OSI, he built the company into the global leader in electronic navigation displays for navy vessels by partnering with some of the world’s largest aerospace and defense companies.

From 1988 to 1996 John worked with MacDonald Dettweiler and Associates Ltd. as a Project Manager, Director of Engineering Services and Administration, Business Manager for Aeronautical Information Systems, and ultimately as the Chief Operating Officer of the PSC Group subsidiary. When the PSC Group was spun out as an independent company in 1996 he continued as its President. Under his leadership, PSC Group became Geotrain Corporation, the world’s largest outsourced training partner for Cisco Systems, with operations on three continents.


John Bean, Chief Financial Officer

John Bean PhotoAs Monexa’s CFO, John brings extensive financial and general management experience from a variety of enterprise and startup technology organizations.

Prior to joining Monexa, John was the principal of InSpire Consulting Services Ltd., which provides bridge management services and senior executive counsel to CEOs in the areas of business strategy, sales & marketing, business development, professional services and general management.

Prior to founding InSpire, John was an Executive Vice President of SHL Systemhouse when revenues tripled from $400 million to $1.2 billion. He was responsible for extending SHL’s global reach in Asia Pacific where he established joint ventures with Mitsui in Japan, with Tong Yang in Korea and with BHP in Australia.

Prior to joining SHL, Mr. Bean was a partner with Accenture, where he developed a solid reputation for winning and delivering major business consulting and technology services projects. He sat on the advisory board of Accenture’s CSTaR (Center for Strategic Technology Research) and was Accenture’s Communications Industry Director for Canada.

John sits on the Computer Systems Technology Industry Advisory Committee for BCIT, has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of British Columbia and is a Chartered Accountant.


Tom Carter, Vice President of Operations

Tom Carter PhotoTom Carter oversees the management of the Operational Support Systems, Help Desk product offerings and the Customer Service department within Monexa. Tom brings six years of project management expertise with experience in both corporate and small / medium sized technology companies.

Tom holds a Masters of Business Administration from the University of British Columbia as well as a BA double major in History and Political Science. Prior to joining Monexa, Tom worked with The Alderwoods Group and Stox.com.




Kevin Lennox, Vice President, Sales

Kevin Lennox PhotoKevin Lennox brings more than twenty five years of leadership in the technology services industry, with organizations ranging from large multi-nationals to startups.

Throughout the majority of his career Kevin has been responsible for achieving revenue targets through personal sales and managing dispersed sales teams. With Datatech as Director of Sales and Operations in the mid nineties he helped the company double its revenues winning several major new customers resulting in the eventual sale of the company to SHL. With SHL, and later EDS Kevin built and managed a national sales support team and provided training to sales executives throughout EDS North America. For Voyus Canada as Vice President of both Sales and Service, Kevin led both teams as the company grew from a startup to six offices and $22 million in revenue.

Kevin joined Monexa in October of 2007 and is responsible for the company’s Sales and Marketing.


Jason M. Grant, Director of Development

Jason Grant PhotoJason M. Grant joined Monexa in 2000, and possesses in-depth knowledge of the company's IP service delivery platforms.

As head of development, Jason is responsible for all product design and development activities related to the company's service delivery and support systems. Within Monexa, Jason has served a critical role in guiding the development of the company's subscription billing platform, Operational Support system (OSS) and trouble ticketing systems, as well as in managing critical due diligence processes with key clients, including AOL Canada and Sage Telecom. His technical skill and insights, based on ten years of dedicated IP service industry experience, are highly valued.

Prior to joining Monexa, Jason held technical roles with national ISP, Internet Direct, as well as Canada's top-ranked Web hosting and domain registrar NetNation.
